The 360 Degree Challenge for Coaches
Since the year 2000, we have had the honor to train and mentor hundreds of professional coaches from all corners of the globe, and through this process we have observed several key behaviors which are either driving success or triggering failure for professional coaches and for the coaching industry as a whole. Our observations were concerning enough to use our skills to interview over 300 coaches to find out what they believe are the key behaviors necessary to build a thriving coaching business. Here is what we learned:

The majority of professional coaches have completed some type of coach training, and they know how to coach. While we believe that every coach can improve their skills, knowing how to coach is not the big concern or complaint, and the "how to coach" piece is covered quite well with the numerous coach training programs available in today's marketplace.

The majority of professional coaches have been through enough sales, marketing and practice building courses to write a book on the subject. Knowing how to market or a lack of access to information on building a business is not the big concern or complaint, and the "how to market and build a coaching business" is covered quite well with the numerous marketing courses available for coaches.

The majority of professional coaches who are not thriving as business owners and leaders are saying that they have a mental block around marketing or a key behavior or habit is getting in the way of the results they want (many coaches we have talked to are saying "It's me! I'm getting in the way of the results I know I can achieve, but I'm really sure what I'm doing or not doing that is getting in my way! "). This is our main concern, and our mission is to be very proactive about addressing the behavioral issues and mental blocks that are getting in the way of a coach's ability to build a thriving business.

As a result of our findings and our work with coaches, we are pleased to announce the opening of The 360 Degree Challenge for Coaches. The Challenge is a multi-source feedback, multi-rater assessment, upward feedback or peer evaluation designed specifically for coaches to give you a panoramic view of your leadership and business capabilities and behaviors. It is a process in which you evaluate yourself on a set of criteria, your coaches will then evaluate you, as do your clients, colleagues and family members. Upon completion of the assessment, you will receive a gap analysis detailing how you perceive yourself versus how others perceive, and the key behaviors that are getting in the way of the results you want will come to the surface. About the Challenge
The 360 Degree Challenge for Coaches focuses primarily on the business and leadership skills we believe are necessary to not just build a thriving coaching business but to build a coaching business that achieves sustainable success. By thriving and sustainable success, we mean that as a coach, you are earning from $75,000-$150,000.00 annually, and that your income is increasing by at least 20% annually. While the survey does include a few questions about coaching skills, we believe that the International Coach Federation’s Core Competencies and the International Association of Coaches' Coaching Proficiencies fully address the skills necessary to become a masterful coach.
The 360 Degree Challenge for Coaches focuses on the following 16 competencies. The assessment will flesh out each of these 16 competencies by addressing 3-4 key behaviors for each competency.
